Join the Oregon Coast Education Program for a FREE 4-day workshop on Oregon's south coast. Participants will explore our understanding of climate change and the coast through hands-on learning while discovering how to best incorporate outdoor field experiences and on-line data into your classroom. We will share teaching modules designed to provide teachers from coastal and non-coastal areas of the state with tools, curriculum resources, and techniques for linking the aquatic world from watershed to the coast and ocean. The Oregon Coast Education Program (OCEP) works with educators to engage students in Meaningful Watershed Education Experiences designed to involve classes in stewardship actions through a project-based learning model. Participants will engage in a variety of outdoor based coastal activities through a workshop designed to model the Preparation, Action, and Reflection phases that are integral to best practices in field-based education.
To ensure commitment in attending this workshop, OCEP will charge a $30 fee to workshop participants who fail to attend or cancel less than two weeks before the workshop occurs. For this workshop you may cancel your spot any time prior to August 5th. This helps to ensure full participation from all who register as well as allowing us to call our wait list and fill the empty spots.
